I think one of my favorite things to capture on film is people. Catching them in genuine moments when they are not aware of a camera makes the photo so much more valuable to me.
I was walking around the classic Car show at Pismo Beach, Ca. with My Yashica C TLR, and I was looking for the right time to start shooting. Everywhere you looked there where classic cars, and I didn’t want to fall into shooting all my film on cars.
We had walked around the area and checked out the pier and at this point we stopped at our favorite BBQ place and I kept my camrea on the table at the ready.
I loved the framing of looking out of the restaurant to see the nice rich red of the car and just sat on it for a bit making sure it was Tack sharp in focus.
After preparing for maybe 30 seconds I was ready to take the photo and in that moment this man began walking into the shot, I waited for him to hit the center and snapped it.
This was the first shot of the roll and I am very glad this wasn’t a half roll shot like I mentioned in my previous post here.

Wonderful shot! I appreciated the backstory you shared—it really added to the photo for me.
