Stroll through the neighborhood – Kodak Ektar 100 – Yashica C

I love shooting on my Yachica TLR, but I also enjoy shooting street photography, It’s hard to act quick to grab a shot in a rush. My neighborhood catches some nice light down the block as it sets.

Yashica C – Kodak Ektar 100

When I saw this couple coming through I rushed to grab my camera and really eyeballed the exposure since there was no time to meter, but I love the shot that came out, not too dark, not too bright.

I have conflicked thoughts on the bar going over the lady’s face, but It kinda adds something as well.

  1. Beautiful image! Love the story it tells. And the light and colors of the image are so lovely. I can understand the conflicting thoughts about the bar going across the woman’s face (I would probably feel the same if this were a photo I had taken). And I think you’re right—it kind of adds something as well…perhaps an illustration of the two “differing worlds” of this couple with one independently mobile and the other in the wheelchair, like it divides their worlds yet they are still finding ways to be together and go places.

Thanks Amanda, I think I like your interpretation the best! The more I look at the photo I think it is easy to come up with any kind of story that could be happening in it and not actually knowing makes it so much better, I appreciate your comment and sharing your thoughts.
